John Szabo is Canada's first and currently only master sommelier, earning the title at the Court of Master Sommeliers' UK examining board in 2004.  He is a Contributing Editor for the highly respected, specialized publication Wine Access Magazine, as well as Editor for the First In Line eReport, reviewing hundreds of new wine releases across Ontario each month. He is Wine Editor for Toronto's CityBites Magazine and occasionally freelances elsewhere.

John is also one of the country's top wine educators, regularly working with dozens of trade organizations to develop and deliver seminars and tastings across the country. Most recently he has worked with The Wine Council of Ontario, The Canadian House of Commons, Wines of Chile, Wine Australia, The Italian Trade Commission, The Tokaj Renaissance and The Greek Government to educate about fine wines. In his spare time, he travels the world and judges wines internationally.
